Clinical Trial Phase
The Phase designation of a clinical trial.
Generally, Phase 1 trials are primarily concerned with examining safety of a treatment, whereas Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials are geared toward
determining efficacy of a proposed treatment.
Phase 4 trials are trials conducted after marketing approval.
